What do Wikipedians need to make more diverse content; better redlink listmaking, highlighting more translation opportunities, building editathon and campaign tracking software, or something else?

We’re pleased to introduce ‘Humaniki’, the merging of two previous Wikimedia projects Wikidata Human Gender Indicators (WHGI) and Denelezh, providing data tools for diversity-focused editors…

I study online peer-production communities like Wikipedia. I try to understand how social, technical, cultural, and political environments shape people’s decision to participate in some online communities vs others.

This blog will cover some examples of user behavior patterns that I take into account while analyzing user research data generated…

With the global pandemic, the work dynamics have certainly changed — companies moving to remote work environments, changes in recruitment strategies, etc. These changes in dynamics demand rethinking the networking strategies — we can no longer visit a nearby networking event and engage in dynamic in-person conversations. But no worries…

To my lovely batchmates, friends, and the class of 2020, what an amazing journey it has been! Tackling challenges and grabbing opportunities, we all have done it together. As we graduate in these changing times, let’s stand together and lead the world to be a more informed and inclusive place! ☮
Congratulations Class of 2020 🎓 🎊

I am grateful to have gotten the opportunity to collaborate with accomplished individuals and work on innovative projects at the University of Washington (UW). Most of the projects didn’t see the light of the day but were part of a great learning experience. My friends at UW have inspired me every step of my way and helped me understand the importance of teamwork. Thank you!

Third Hindi Wikipedia conference organized by the Hindi Wikipedia community.

This January, I got the opportunity to attend Hindi Wikipedia Conference held in Delhi, India. I even got a chance to meet Wikipedians from Odia and Maithili community.

I explored many new things. Some of them being coordinating such large scale event and helping with the media coverage of the conference. One of the most important things I did was to create awareness about the advantages of using Programs and Events Dashboard. I also helped Maithili Wikipedians from Nepal by solving the problems they faced with the Dashboard.

As it is rightly said that, “A picture is worth a thousand words”, here are some pictures from the conference —
