It’s Simple!

How to get started?

Well you can go through various new-comer friendly issues on particular organization’s GitHub Repository.

So which Organization you may ask!

One which interests you or works with the frameworks or languages which you have worked with or you want to learn.

Where to go to find Open Source Organizations?

Thats a valid question even I was struggling to get more options that suit my interests, So here’s a list of open source programs that may help! Additionally, you’ll find a list of organizations participating in them and see if they interest you.

Setup Phase

Once you know which code base you want to contribute to, then comes the setup phase..

Well! All the open source organizations have Documentation ready for newcomers, So you can be up and running in no time.

IRC to Rescue!

Don’t forget that if you get into any trouble, you can always ask doubts on their IRC channel and I’m sure they’ll help you through it. Make sure you have tried before asking(#GoogleSearch), they respect specific doubts and not general ambiguous questions.

Here are some links to make you up and running with IRC:

Start Contributing…(Get ready to make an impact!)

Now that you have gone through the setup phase and got the development environment working, you are good to go:). You can discuss the issue you want to contribute to in the comments section of the same GitHub page or on IRC as guided by the Active Contributor of the community.
